Today I had to catch a train from Grantham to Preston to collect Rosies new car. She is getting rid of the Brabus turbo and has replaced it with a 1997 Fiat Cinquecento in yellow. Preston to Grantham is a long way in an army mess tin with an engine!

The train ticket should have cost £46 single but with several websites and two changes and a bit of web discount I got it for the grand sum of £21.25. I did not realise that National Express had intercity trains until today. Well worth the effort of trying different combinations of changes and cities.

On the festy front we are looking like we will be doing the Secret Garden festy wich is amazing. Disco Max is going so I look forward to getting him to do some free work meeting him for a drink!

love and peace

1914 - 2008 RIP

Posted under Uncategorized

Gypsy Rose Lee, Larry Adler, Dylan Thomas, Alec Guiness, Phil Drabble and Bill Owen were all born.

Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote “Tarzan the Ape Man”

Colonel Bogey was composed

And Rose Hilda Ellen Wheelecker was born in Ilkeston Derbyshire. 13th March 2008 Rose Hilda Ellen Wheelecker died aged 94.

Rose claimed she was the reason that WW1 started but the people who knew her, knew that she was far too sweet and gentle to start a war.

Rose was glad that her children outlived her as that would have been too much to bear. Rose was happy to see her grandchildren settled and that also made her happy. Rose decided that she had lived long enough, having survived two world wars, 17 prime ministers and 16 presidents of the USA.

Her heart stopped at 0215 on the 13th March 2008 and she will be missed by all she touched.

RIP Granny Wheelecker

Things are moving along in a very sedate way at present. We are spending the national debt of a small country on stock and shiny things for the motorhome. I still need to get the  towbar fitted which is going to be done in the next few weeks. We still have to source the trailer for our stock which will be done in the next few weeks. We also need 3 new leisure batteries for the moterhome which will be done in the next few weeks.

In answer to the comment by Trouty about Rosie sporting a ring last year. I bought her a ring for her birthday and she put it on her wedding finger, but there was no official asking or accepting done till the 29th and Rosie asking me.

Love and peace

Ring Ring!

Down on bended knees and making the traditional proposal…waiting with baited breath for the acceptance……I said yes and Rosie placed a ring on my finger.

Lots to be said for leap year!

Love and peace
